No Means No!

Grant is wise beyond his years. Today when I was preparing my taxes I was privy to a conversation between Grant and Aimee that made me laugh out loud. Aimee was getting ready to make lunch and Grant wanted an orange roll. (This is a Pillsbury creation like a cinnamon roll, but all Grant really wanted was the icing.) I heard him trying to pry a yes answer from Aimee and he got a maybe. To this Grant responded in his loudest and angriest voice, “MAYBE MEANS NO!”

As you can tell Aimee wanted to prove him wrong, and Grant got his way. So the question remains does maybe mean no or does maybe mean yes when you protest enough?
